Jonathan Mariani has been hired as the Great Bend Bat Cats head baseball coach after serving as an assistant coach for two seasons. Mariani has worked as a volunteer assistant baseball coach for Barton Community College since 2019 with primary responsibilities for coaching outfielders and first base coach. Mariani was responsible for taking care of Lawson-Biggs Field, the baseball facility, and grounds keeping for the softball field and track/field complex for two years. Mariani coached for the Fort Collins, Colo.
