A liquor by the drink opt-out, sparked by the efforts of Hutchinson business Sandhills Brewing Company to renew its state of Kansas liquor license, will be placed on the county's November 2023 ballot.Reno County Commissioners Daniel P. Friesen (chair, District 2), Ron Sellers (vice chair, District 1) and Ron Hirst (member, District 3) voted 3-0 at their Tuesday meeting to direct the commission staff to place liquor by the drink as a yes or no resolution to opt out of K.S.A. 41-2646 on the ballot in 2023.
