On Wednesday, U.S. Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Kan., brought U.S. Sen. Bill Hagerty, R-Tenn., to Hutchinson. Hagerty had visited Kansas before, but he had not visited Hutchinson. "It's just a beautiful area," he said. Because Marshall is a physician, matters related to people's health are always foremost on his mind. In addition to general health-related issues, he is concerned about fentanyl-related deaths and ending emergency measures related to COVID-19. That's why when Pres. Joe Biden recently signed a bill ending the COVID-19 national emergency last Monday, Marshall was relieved.
